Be a part of Canberra’s 1st ever BBQ Festival

Civic Square, 5-6 December 2015

Smoque American BBQ, the Australian American Association (AAA) and the Office for Multicultural Affairs are bringing you the first ever BBQ Festival to be held in Canberra and we’d love for you to be a part of it.

Set in Civic Square amongst the surrounds of the Legislative Assembly, Canberra Theatre Centre, Civic Library, Canberra Museum and Gallery, Mr Wei’s Chinese Restaurant, Craft ACT and the Office for Multicultural Affairs, the first ever Canberra BBQ festival will host local and interstate BBQ masters, food stallholders and entertainers. On 5-6 December, get set for a fun, multicultural flavoured family event with activities for all ages.

The BBQ competition component of this festival is sanctioned by the Australasian BBQ Alliance and will adhere to their stringent guidelines for conducting a BBQ competition. This is serious stuff for lovers of BBQ!

Want to find out more about the Australasian BBQ Alliance and how you could be a judge at our event?

Visit their website for lots of great photos of other BBQ events held across Australia (and coming up) and some great informational YouTube videos all about BBQs:

Want to be an entertainer at the event?

We’ll have a raised stage and want to showcase local/regional  entertainers at the event so would love to hear from you if you can add to the family friendly, BBQ theme (we’re looking for Square dancing, cheerleading, Swing dancing, whipcracking, lassoing &  other fun entertainment). Get in touch to let us know what you can do at:

(FYI, the Port Macquarie Blues & BBQ Festival is coming up to it’s 3rd year. They had 20 competitors their first year and now have almost 80 competitors registered for their 2016 competition!). People just really love a BBQ!
